Accessing your Doctor
Booking an appointment
You can book an appointment with a doctor of your choice by telephone or by calling into the surgery. We will endeavour to try and offer you an appointment on the day you request but it may not always be possible.
Morning appointments are only bookable on the day, except for postnatal and babies 6 week checks which are arranged in advance.
Afternoon appointments are bookable a week in advance except for Friday afternoon which are booked on the day.
Each day the doctors have several urgent slots for any urgent problems that can't wait for a routine appointment.
Please book a double appointment if you require an interpreter or if you have more than one problem to discuss, this will enable the doctor to ensure your problems are dealt with appropriately.
We are now able to offer an online service to enable you to book appointments, order repeat medication and view your medical records. You will need to call into the practice to request access to the online service and you will be given a sheet with your unique registration details.
Online appointments can also be booked, at the moment we are only doing this for afternoon appointments which can be booked one week in advance, we will review this as the system is used more.
You can also view your medical records to see your current medication, immunisations and allergies.
If you would like to speak to your doctor personally the receptionist can take a message for you and pass it onto the doctor who will endeavour to return your call after surgery. Only urgent calls will be put through to the doctor during surgery hours. If possible please tell the receptionist what the call is about so we can assess how urgent the situation is.
Preference of practitioner
You can see the doctor of your preference when making your appointment. In the event that your preferred doctor is unavailable you will be offered an appointment with another doctor. If you would wish to wait for your preferred doctor you may have to wait longer than the 48 hours recommended in the NHS plan.
